# Brigadier > Brigadier is a free, open-source Mac app that runs Claude Code and Codex, unchanged, with a brigade behind every session. Nothing stuck, nothing lost, your work landed in your branch. Brigadier is a desktop app for macOS (public alpha, version 0.1.0-alpha). It runs the official Claude Code and Codex CLIs, unmodified, under your own logins. Every session can bring a brigade of workers, each in its own git worktree, and lands the work in the branch you picked. It is free and open source under the MIT license, with no account, no servers and no telemetry. - Install: `brew install --cask syncra-studio/tap/brigadier`, or download the DMG. - Requirements: macOS 14 Sonoma or later · Apple silicon and Intel · Signed and notarized DMG · Needs a supported coding CLI, signed in. ## Links - [Download the DMG](https://github.com/syncra-studio/brigadier-ai/releases/download/v0.1.0-alpha/Brigadier-0.1.0-alpha-universal.dmg) - [Source code on GitHub](https://github.com/syncra-studio/brigadier-ai) - [User docs](https://github.com/syncra-studio/brigadier-ai/tree/main/docs/user) - [Install guide](https://github.com/syncra-studio/brigadier-ai/blob/main/docs/user/install.md) - [Getting started: your first task](https://github.com/syncra-studio/brigadier-ai/blob/main/docs/user/first-task.md) - [Privacy](https://github.com/syncra-studio/brigadier-ai/blob/main/docs/user/privacy.md) - [Releases](https://github.com/syncra-studio/brigadier-ai/releases) ## FAQ - **What do I need?** A Mac running macOS 14 Sonoma or later, on Apple silicon or Intel, plus at least one supported coding CLI installed and signed in. Brigadier uses the subscriptions you already have. - **Is it free?** Yes. Brigadier is MIT-licensed open source. You pay only for the CLI subscriptions you already have. - **Do I need an account?** No. There is no Brigadier account and no telemetry. - **Does Brigadier see my code or tokens?** Brigadier runs locally on your Mac, with no servers of its own. Your code and logins never go to Brigadier. It runs the official CLIs, under your logins. - **Does it push or merge on its own?** No. Your session runs git and gh as plain commands when the task calls for it. Work lands in the branch you chose, and nothing is pushed unless you ask. - **Will it run other CLIs?** Claude Code and Codex today. More are coming. Each runs as itself, under your login, and can work in a brigade.
